HMM seafarers have deposited their letters of resignation and sent CVs to MSC

A looming strike among employees on board HMM's vessels has been paused to proceed with the negotiations regarding a new wage agreement, but the resignations have still been deposited with the union, while competitor MSC reportedly has received several hundreds of CVs.

What would have been the first strike in the South Korean container carrier HMM's history has been avoided at the last minute, as employees and managers will keep negotiating about a new wage agreement.

South Korean Media The Korea Herald reports that the employees organized under one of the unions at HMM have put their strike on hold and will return to the negotiating table on Sept. 1.
