Evergreen orders 24 container vessels – the second highest newbuild count relative to fleet

Evergreen orders 24 container vessels for a total value upwards of USD 1.1 billion, positioning the Taiwanese container carrier as the second largest orderer of newbuilds relative to its existing fleets.

Evergreen, the world's seventh largest container carrier, is in the midst of a large newbuild program, with more vessels to come.

The Taiwanese container carrier has placed an order for 24 smaller new container vessels with a capacity of 1,800-3,000 teu each, confirms Evergreen in an announcement to the stock exchange in Taiwan.
