Container rates decrease for second week in a row

On an annual basis, container freight rates have increased by 76.1 percent, according to SCFI.

Spot rates on container freight decrease for the second week in a row from the record level of 2022’s first week, shows the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which measures spot prices on container freight from Shanghai to a number global destinations.

The index has decreased by 0.8 percent to 5,053.12 following a decline of 0.3 percent last week.
