MSC, Lufthansa mull acquiring Italian state aviation firm

Swiss container line MSC and German aviation company Lufthansa have offered the Italian state to take over ITA Airways, formerly known as Alitalia, MSC confirms to ShippingWatch.

MSC and Lufthansa seek to acquire a majority stake in ITA and have requested a 90-day consideration period with the exclusive right to take over the state airline.
