Maersk halts bookings in Russia

Maersk has decided to temporarily halt bookings in Russia. Monday, the carrier stated that it considered suspending freight to and from Russia. Medicine, foods and humanitarian supplies are exempted.

Maersk shuts down bookings of container freight to and from Russia, states the carrier in an email to ShippingWatch.

The sharpened sanctions against Russia, Russian companies and individuals, the air space ban as well as the halt of Russian ships being able to call at ports in, for instance, the UK now also hit the global supply chains.
