Danaos orders four new container ships prepared for methanol

With a commission of four mid-size container vessels ready to sail on both methanol and conventional ship fuel, Danaos seeks to safeguard its investment in new ships if energy prices stay high or if methanol doesn’t become available.

Danaos, which is one of the world’s biggest owners of container ships, has ordered four new container vessels of 7,200 teu each, which will be prepared to sail on methanol, writes Danaos in a press release.
