Global container freight volumes dropped in April

Global demand on the container market dived more than 4% in April, and volumes across the world are now just slightly above the level of April 2019, show new numbers from Container Trade Statistics. Rates remain towering, however.

Measured in volumes carried over the world’s oceans, the container market seems to be cooling down, as confirmed by numbers on some of the major liner companies’ volume development.
