Sky-high prices dampen container ship demand

The number of orders placed for new container ships is declining as vessel prices soar. 108 second-hand ships cost more in the year’s first five months than 189 vessels cost in the same period of 2021, according to VesselsValue.

While container ship prices are skyrocketing, demand for both new and second-hand vessels has fallen in the past five months, according to a report by analyst firm VesselsValue.
