Container rates decline for ninth consecutive week

Container rates continue their long dive, decreasing by 4.7% this week, according to the SCFI.

This week, the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which measures spot prices on container cargo from Shanghai to a number of global destinations, fell by 4.7% to 3,562.67.

It was the index’s ninth consecutive week of decline.
