Danske Bank: Excess US demand waning and set to hit shipping

After some years of enormous demand for goods in the US, consumption patterns are about to change, impacting shipping, said Danske Bank’s chief analyst at the Marine Money conference. China-Taiwan could become a new geopolitical headache.

Dark clouds are forming over the global economy, with higher interest rates and inflation, and now the great consumption boom in the US with goods purchases from Asia is slowing down.
