Capacity declines on the Pacific "with no end in sight"

An additional four services on the Pacific Ocean have been shut down, and capacity on the previously super-profitable route continues to fall ”with no end in sight,” writes Alphaliner. The reason is not isolated to falling exports from China.

Overall, capacity on the three global east-west trade lanes is declining this year, and this is first and foremost due to the developments on one of the three major container routes.
