Less-than-a-year-old Arctic Container Line, which yesterday signed a partnership agreement with Boeckmans, is already working with plans for the next steps, says Line Manager Eivind Bergland to ShippingWatch.

”The first concrete new venture is a new fixed route between Hamburg, Bremerhaven and the Norwegian west coast, which we will start at the beginning of November,” Bergland explains.

For instance, the carrier plans to add the Norwegian city of Trondheim as a regular destination in the setup.

”We see Scandinavia as a very interesting market, where we believe that volumes will remain strong, also with the challenges surrounding inflation and increased costs. We particularly believe that Norwegian exports will remain strong,” Bergland states, adding:

”There have been - and still are - major challenges in the major ports in Europe, with long waiting times and full terminals. Arctic Container Line will be a flexible partner that will help reduce the effects of these challenges.”

Arctic Container Line was established in February this year and has six container vessels in its fleet, which is shared with companies under the Myklebusthaug group.
