As of Friday, spot prices on global container freight have fallen for 28 weeks in a row.

This week, the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which measures spot prices on box freight from Shanghai to a number of global destinations, has decreased by 1.4 percent to 1,107.09.

The index has thus followed an uninterrupted descend for more than six months and is currently at the lowest level since Aug. 14, 2020.

With this week’s decline, the SCFI is now 77.7 percent below the level at the same time last year.
