Container rates continue down for third consecutive week

With the recent development, the SCFI is 79.6 percent lower than a year ago.

Spot prices on global container freight decline for the third week in a row. 

This week, the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which measures spot prices on box freight from Shanghai to a number of destinations around the globe, fell by 0.2 percent to 1,029.75.

The index is thus 79.6 percent below last year’s level.
