Spot prices on global box freight have now decreased for eight weeks in a row.

This week, the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index (SCFI), which measures spot prices on container freight from Shanghai to a number of destinations around the globe, has dropped by 1.6 percent to 931.08 points.

The SCFI is thus 80.4 percent below the level a year ago. 931.08 represents the lowest level since early June 2020.

The index peaked in early 2022 at 5,109.6.
