MSC's latest purchase of container ships signals prices going down

The world’s largest box carrier is rapidly increasing its fleet of second-hand container ships. In 2023, MSC has purchased 12 such vessels, but prices are falling, show data from VesselsValue.

MSC continues its trend from the past few years of purchasing used container ships. So far in 2023, the company has bought 12 second-hand vessels for its fleet, which today is the biggest on the container market.
