More than 1,000 new box ships to hit water in upcoming years
Deliveries of large vessels will especially happen this year and the next, according to new data. The trend could probably lead to several years with overcapacity, one bank estimates.
Carriers were frequent customers at shipbuilders during the upswing of the pandemic, and a whole wave of new ships are slated to enter the market.
