Bank points to capacity as the box market's biggest challenge

Shipping companies will have to walk a tightrope to manage capacity in the coming years, although demand is expected to improve slightly by the end of 2023, ING writes in its container outlook.

With an ”intense” decline in the demand for freight, it is the container shipping companies’ new ships that will be the big challenge in the coming years, according to the Dutch major bank ING.
