Car batteries could become a good business for liner companies

Normally, reefer containers are filled with food, but in the future they will also be holding flammable car batteries, says Hapag-Lloyd and DB Schenker.

Batteries could make an important contribution to transport companies’ earnings from reefer containers, as more electric cars hit the roads, expect two of Germany’s largest shipping-affiliated companies: container line Hapag-Lloyd and logistics major DB Schenker.
