Major carriers continue to order new and greener container ships

With 187 orders for new container vessels this year, the global order book now represents 29 pct. of fleet capacity, Alphaliner reports.

During the first nine months of the year, container shipping companies have continued to order new ships despite the threat of overcapacity and plunging freight rates.
