Matson chief expects low container demand through 2024

Volumes and the demand for containers are declining, says US-based Matson at a time when shipping companies have a lot of large new ships set for delivery.

Activity in the container market has cooled, and while there is still demand for freight out of China, it is at much lower levels than last year.
