HMM expands its bulk fleet with USD 1bn deal

Mostly known for its container carriers, South Korean HMM is increasing its bet on other segments – now with a USD 1bn deal to charter a series of bulker vessels from 2026 to 2042.

HMM has signed a contract with an undisclosed company to charter four dry bulk ships from 2026 and up to 2042, according to a filing from the South Korean shipping company.
