Opinion: Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd will soon topple another domino

The first two pieces in the great domino game in the container market have already fallen. Now it’s time for the third domino to fall, writes Lars Jensen.

The first domino to fall was the announced dissolution of 2M in January 2023. This sent Maersk looking for new partners, whereas MSC strictly speaking is sufficiently large not to absolutely need a partner but can settle for smaller agreements.
