German upstart leaps ahead of container majors on fleet growth

Retail chain Lidl’s own container line beats its major peers in terms of fleet capacity growth in the past seven months, according to analysts.

A number of the largest container lines have expanded in the wake of the record years in container shipping in 2021 and 2022, but even the largest shipping lines are overtaken by an upstart when it comes to fleet growth.
