FBI to investigate whether old maritime law was violated in Baltimore

Both Dali’s owner, operator and Maersk, which chartered the ship, deny liability for the accident, which resulted in six deaths and extensive material damage.

Investigators looking into the Baltimore accident in which the ship Dali collided with the Francis Scott Key Bridge will now examine whether the crew or companies behind the vessel violated a centuries-old law on manslaughter by seafarers, reports The Wall Street Journal on the basis of sources close to the case.
