Hapag-Lloyd raises its forecast for the full year

The German container line notes a setback in the first three months of the year, though longer trips south of Africa create calm about capacity prospects.
”Even though our results are significantly below the exceptionally strong figures from the previous year owing to the normalisation of supply chains, we are pleased to have got the new year off to a good start,” says CEO Rolf Habben Jansen in the financial statement from the German container shipping company. | Photo: Ulrich Perrey/AP/Ritzau Scanpix

Hapag-Lloyd delivers a significantly lower result for the beginning of 2024, but the container line, the world’s fifth-largest, raises its overall expectations for the year.
