Maersk fears climate-skeptic turn in Europe: "It would be incredibly negative"

It could have a global impact if Europe turns more conservative after the upcoming election, the Danish shipping giant states.
"Right now, these ships run on fuel that is at least twice as expensive as conventional fuel. And if this is to work commercially against our competitors, we need to make sure that there is a very strong regulatory framework to raise the bar," says Simon Bergulf, Maersk. | Photo: Pr-foto Mærsk

Maersk calls the upcoming European Parliament elections the most important in decades and crucial for the ongoing green transition of the shipping industry globally.
