
From 2015 Maersk Line's new interregional container carrier SeaLand will take over the coverage of the intra-American market. Maersk Line currently operates ships in the range of 2,500 to 3,500 teu, which could be supplemented with ships as small as 1,000 teu, CEO Craig Mygatt (photo) tells ShippingWatch. SeaLand will, however, start out by taking over Maersk Line's network in a market where 3.3 million ffe container are transported every year, a volume that amounts to 6.6 million teu.
