Smedegaard downplays growth in container industry

A.P. Moeller-Maersk CEO Nils Smedegaard Andersen predicts that demand in the container industry will grow by around 3.5 to 4 percent, he tells TV station CNBC at the World Economic Forum in Davos, according to Bloomberg News.

This estimate is somewhat lower than previous predictions from the Maersk Group. At its Capital Markets Day the Group pointed to a 4-6 percent growth in demand in 2014 and 2015, while market capacity in those years was estimated to grow by 7 percent and 5 percent, respectively.
