A stronger Maersk Line result and improved profits from other shipping activities, including Maersk Tankers, in the 1st quarter 2014 compared to the 4th quarter 2013, says analyst RS Platou Markets ahead of the A.P. Moeller-Maersk interim report for the first quarter 2014, which will be published on Wednesday, May 21st.

Platou expects an operating profit of USD 971.4 million for the first three months of the year in Maersk Line, compared to USD 784.5 million in the 4th quarter 2013. This growth is supported by a slow but gradual improvement of the market conditions in the container industry, says Platou in an analysis on Thursday.
