Drewry: 2M not a disaster for competitors

The new 2M collaborative agreement between MSC and Maersk leaves CMA CGM out in the cold. The carrier might find new collaborative partners going forward, but 2M will not crash the worlds of CMA CGM or the other competitors, says Drewry.

Wonder how the competitors felt yesterday, Thursday, when the two largest container carriers in the world announced the new 2M collaboration - a VSA between Maersk Line and MSC?

No one really knows, but Neil Dekker, Head of Research - Containers at Drewry, tells ShippingWatch that it is unlikely that the competitors' worlds crashed completely.
