According to sources familiar with MSC, Maersk Line and the rest of the industry should not expect changes now that Diego Aponte has been taken over as CEO after his father.

People familiar with MSC often describe the carrier's management structure as "flat."

This could make it sound like the responsibility is delegated to various levels of management. But this is not quite what "flat" means at the just 44-year-old container carrier, currently the second largest in the world - and perhaps the world's largest within the next few years.
