
Carriers such as Maersk Line and Hapag-Lloyd report that congestion in the two major US West Coast ports Los Angeles and Long Beach has reached a critical point resulting in significant consequences for all involved parties, not least customers.
The reason is a shortage of trucks. The American Trucking Association (ATA) states that there is currently a shortage of 30,000 truck drivers across the US.
