Evergreen to invest USD 700 million in 20 feeder vessels

Taiwan's Evergreen is allegedly in final negotiations for a total of 20 container ships of 3,000 teu each. The new ships are expected to be deployed on services in Asia.

Evergreen is rumored to be in final negotiations concerning an order for 20 container ships of 3,000 teu each - vessels that will most likely be deployed on the intra-Asian market.

The Taiwanese container giant, a member of the Asian CKYHE alliance, is said to be negotiating with several shipyards in South Korea, Taiwan and Japan, reports Tradewinds on Monday. These yards include Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD), Imabari Shipbuilding and CSBC Corp., sources tell the newspaper.
