The US Coast Guard has located a dead body and an empty, destroyed life boat from wrecked container ship El Faro. The discovery puts an end to the hopes of finding survivors from the accident, reports Reuters.

Authorities have been searching for the vessel since it disappeared from the radar on Thursday when it was caught in hurricane Joaquin off the coast of the Bahamas en route from Jacksonville, Florida to San Juan, Puerto Rico.
