Hapag-Lloyd and UASC confirm cooperation talks

Hapag-Lloyd and United Arab Shipping Company on Thursday confirmed talks for a potential cooperation, that could result in a possible merger of the carriers' container activities, according to a statement from the German carrier.

Container carriers Hapag-Lloyd and United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) on Thursday confirm that the two carriers are in collaboration talks that could lead to a merger of the units' container shipping businesses, informs Hapag-Lloyd in a statement after German media Manager Magazin first reported on the talks earlier in the day.
