Maersk vessel in dramatic collision off the coast of China

Vessel Safmarine Meru, which is owned by Maersk Line, collided on Saturday with German-owned container vessel Northern Jasper off the coast of China. The collision was so severe that a fire broke out on the ship.

On Saturday, the vessel Safmarine Meru, owned by Maersk Line, collided with German-owned container ship Northern Jasper off the coast of China, informed Maersk Line in a press release Sunday evening. The collision took place 120 nautical miles east of the city Ningbo where the vessel was headed from the city of Qingdao.
