Large container vessels set records in Africa and India

Container vessels with up to 13,000 teu are being pushed further down the system as the carriers employ even larger mega-vessels on the Asia-Europe service. The regular big vessels are now relocating to services in regions including Africa, Alphaliner reports.

As the major container carriers employ their expensive mega-vessels on the sector's main route from the Far East to Europe, the somewhat smaller vessels of about 13,000 teu are being pushed further down into the system.
