Alphaliner: Hanjin is finished as a container carrier

Any rehabilitation of collapsed South Korean container carrier Hanjin seems completely unrealistic, even as a small niche carrier in Asia, says analyst agency Alphaliner.

Hanjin is done as a container carrier, and the company's own proposal for a rescue plan, to be submitted in December, will be impossible to realize. This is the most likely outcome of the receivership and overwhelming collapse of South Korea's largest carrier, according to analyst agency Alphaliner.

Alphaliner does not see Hanjin having a future as a small niche carrier on intra-Asian services either. Hanjin stopped offering these services back in September.
