Hanjin Shipping poised for mass firings

According to South Korean news media Pulse, Hanjin Shipping has initiated a firing round of 2,000 employees, but 10,000 people in related companies are expected to lose their jobs when Hanjin goes down.

Hanjin Shipping has announced to 560 employees on board the carrier's ships that their employment will cease Dec. 10. The rest of the 2,000 workers are expected to receive a similar notice of termination within the next month, writes South Korean news media Pulse.
