Drewry: Maersk Line and OOCL will pull ahead in 2017

Maersk Line and Hong Kong-based container carrier Orient Overseas (OOCL) are recommended by Drewry as the two carriers which hold the strongest positions in the gradual recovery expected over 2017, where many project that positive earnings will return to the industry.

Drewry names Maersk Line and listed Orient Overseas Container Lines (OOCL), which is currently the subject of massive speculation on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange because of its potential divestment, as the two container carriers in the industry which will reap the greatest benefits from the gradual improvement in the container market over 2017. This improvement is set to take place at the expense of weaker competitors, especially those burdened by major debt.
