Container industry suffers record deficit in 2016

2016 finished with major losses for the combined container industry, according to calculations made by SeaIntelligence Consulting for ShippingWatch. The level is virtually in line with the horrific year of 2011.

With the latest big deficit from Taiwanese container carrier Yang Ming, a clear picture is starting to form of the financial woes that characterized the sector last year.
