Hapag-Lloyd to raise more than USD 400 million

The top shareholders in Hapag-Lloyd are completing the agreed capital expansion to repay debt related to the merger with Arab carrier UASC.

German container carrier Hapag-Lloyd expects to raise USD 414 million through a capital expansion now being undertaken by the shareholders in relation to the merger with United Arab Shipping Company, UASC. The proceeds will be used mainly to repay debt, informs Hapag-Lloyd in a press release Thursday.
