A contract signed by energy company and China's SP Chemicals also benefits gas carrier Evergas. The two parties recently entered an agreement that has Ineos supply ethane from its US shale production to the Chinese company's ethylene production.
The deal includes the construction of the world's largest ethane tanker vessel with a capacity of 95,000 cubic meters, set for delivery in 2019 and which will be operated by Evergas. This is the first VLEC, Very Large Ethane Carrier, in Evergas' fleet. The ship will be built under management by the gas carrier's owner, the Jaccar group.
