Odfjell views 2018 as turning point for chemical tanker

The low chemical tanker rates will not improve much in the beginning of 2018, but the year overall will represent a turning point, says Odfjell CEO Kristian Mørch. The carrier's bottom line fell in 2017.

Things will get better. Perhaps not right away, but during the year, says Odfjell of the expected developments for the chemical tanker market in 2018, describing the year as a turning point.

Developments in 2017 brought a slide in both revenue and earnings for the carrier, which in addition to a fleet of chemical tanker vessels also operates ports through its Odfjell Terminals unit.
