DHT reports fourth quarter profit

In a generally tough year for the tanker sector, shipping company DHT Holdings finished the last quarter of the year with a positive bottom line. The start of 2019 indicates improvements in the market, says JP Morgan.

Tanker shipping company DHT Holdings achieved a positive bottom line in late 2018 in what turned out to be a generally dire year for the tanker sector.

For the last three months of the year, however, the company reported a net profit of USD 12 million, according to the annual report. In comparison, DHT Holdings at the same time 2017 booked a deficit of USD 7.5 million, due to factors such as an impairment.
