DNV GL projects three-fold increase in installation of LNG tanks

DNV GL projects a three-fold increase in the number of LNG tanks being installed on board ships before the end of 2020. The global sulfur cap has boosted the development.

The number of ships sailing on LNG fuel will accelerate in the next year and a half, projects Martin Wold of classification bureau DNV GL. He heads the so-called AFI platform, on which the company collects data from ships sailing on alternative fuels such as LNG, LPG and methanol.
