Hafnia believes in VLCC effect into first months of 2020

First VLCC rates soared to USD 300,000 per day, then dipped down to USD 150,000 to end up around USD 100,000. But the still-high level could have a longer-term impact on product tanker, Hafnia tells ShippingWatch. Clarksons Platou agrees.

They are fluctuating wildly, and even though they have gone down by to thirds since peaking at USD 300,000 per day, VLCC spot rates will likely boost the product tanker market in the months to come, says Hafnia.
