BW Rhine explosion is yet another attack on shipping and Saudi interests

The explosion aboard Hafnia vessel BW Rhine Sunday night in Jeddah adds to the list of attacks on shipping and Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea lately. However, security company Dryad Global calls the incident more sophisticated than previously seen.

Hafnia vessel BW Rhine was in the process of discharging gas oil shortly after midnight in Jeddah Sunday night, when the air in the Saudi Arabian port suddenly shook from a violent explosion, after which a powerful fire broke out on the side of the vessel.
