Tanker fleet sale pulls Scorpio Tankers out of liquidity problems

Scorpio Tankers has been plagued by earnings and liquidity issues for long, however, the sale of 14 tankers will fundamentally change the carrier’s negative tendencies in 2022, estimates Jefferies in an analysis.

A significant sale of 14 tanker vessels has filled up the treasure trove at Scorpio Tankers, enabling the carrier to remove debts and prepare for the utilization of what is expected to be a good year within product tanker, estimates investment bank Jefferies in a research of the Scorpio Tankers’ vessel sales to, among others, the tanker line’s biggest rival, Hafnia.
